how to get from Ljubljana Bus/ Train Station to MEDVODE (gym location)?

The Airport is located 27 km north of the city. The Airport is open every day from 6:00 until 22:00. The airport terminal has a restaurant, a bank, a post office, a Duty-Free shop, boutiques, a tourist agency, a car rental agency, air taxi service, and express shipping company. From Airport to Ljubljana and back

BY BUS
There is a regular bus service to and from Ljubljana in front of the terminal building (journey takes app. 45 min; every hour 5am-8pm Mon-Fri-; Sat., Sun. and holidays every 2 hours 7am-8pm). You buy tickets on the bus. A one-way bus ticket to Ljubljana at the moment app. 4,10 EUR. For more information check here.

BY TAXI
You can find taxis already waiting in front of the terminal building. A one-way trip to Ljubljana costs app. 30 EUR.

Car Rentals: You can also rent a car; there are several agents in the terminal building. You can find a list of them here.

TRAIN
There is no direct train connection from the Airport to Ljubljana , you may however take a regular bus to Kranj and take the train to Ljubljana from the Kranj railway station. 2. by CAR (image directions for those coming by car)

As a Central European State Slovenia is easily reachable by car. From Budapest and Vienna the Slovenian border is no more than a two-hour drive. A tunnel speeds traffic through the Karavanke Alps between Slovenia and Austria . From Vienna the passage is by way of Maribor to Ljubljana , with a four-lane highway most of the way. Slovenia 's roads also connect with Italy 's autostrada.

Few basic information about Slovenia traffic regime:
Slovenes drive on the right and are obliged to keep their headlights on at all times. Speed limits are 50 kph (37 mph) in urban areas and 130 kph (74 mph) on highways. You need to pay toll on expressways (in cash either in EUR, USD, CHF or HRK or by any major credit card). Prices are available here.
Drivers of A and B categories can have 0,5 g of alcohol per 1 kg of blood, under conditions that they show no changes in behavior.

International Green Card
International automobile insurance is mandatory for all foreign vehicles, except for vehicles from countries with which Slovenia has concluded special agreements (members of the European Union and some other countries). The Green Card can be purchased at all international border crossings.

AMZS
In Slovenia the Automobile Association of Slovenia provides services 24 hours a day. There are 16 AMZS technical centers in all larger towns and motorists in trouble should dial the phone number 1987; on motorways emergency phones are at disposal every 2 km. Their car will be either repaired on the spot or transported to the nearest garage. On its website you can also find current traffic information and information on any delays on border crossings.

PARKING IN LJUBLJANA
Parking spaces are marked with a white line. The parking fee is paid with the parking meters (available in the city centre). Parking time in the inner city centre is restricted to one hour only. Enclosed you can find a document with few parking options in Ljubljana .

3. by TRAIN

Ljubljana is the hub of Slovenia 's rail system. There are international connections to Hungary (Budapest), Germany (Munich), Italy (Trieste, Venice), Bolgaria (Sofia), Czech Republic (Prague), Austria (Vienna, Graz, Villach, Salzburg), FYROM (Skopje), Greece (Thessaloniki), Serbia (Beograd), Switzerland (Zurich) and Croatia (Zagreb, Rijeka, Opatija, Pulj).

Almost every important tourist destination is served by trains. The train station in Ljubljana is on Trg Osvobodilne Fronte (OF) at the northern edge of downtown, at walking distance to most hotels. The local trains timetables are available on Slovenske Zeleznice .

4. by BUS

Ljubljana bus station is right next to the train station and has services throughout the country and to neighbors as well. You can travel to Ljubljana from several cities in Europe: Goeteborg, Malmoe, Kobenhaven, Sofia , Beograd, Zagreb , Sarajevo , Priština, Skopje , London , Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Paris, Prague, Vienna, Trieste. coming from TRIESTE:

The bus departs from Trieste at 14:00 arriving to Ljubljana at 16:46, the cost of the ticket is € 11.60.
Going from Ljubljana, the bus departs at 6:25 reaching Trieste at 8:56.

This bus line operates from Monday to Saturday, except for Italian holidays, 1st of May. Operator is Veolia.

1. INTERCITY BUS, Exit station: Medvode na klancu (ask the driver)
Journey time: 20 min, price: 2,3 EUR bus timetable

Walking to the gym: 5 min

Go to the round crossroads and go to left - after approx. 100 metres you will see the sport complex

2. CITY BUS number 25 (Medvode)
(The station is 100 m from the main bus station- it’s called Kora bar/ Bavarski dvor)

Journey time: 20- 25 min
Price is 1 EUR (coin- they don’t return change) or you buy the token (for 0, 80 EUR) at any kiosk (with magazines)
Exit station: Novo naselje (second last station- ask the driver)
Walking distance from the sport centre- 15 min
